Think you’re funny? Now’s your chance to find out with this fantastic
opportunity to work with the UK’s top comedy coach at this one-day workshop,
funded by Pride in Brighton & Hove.
The Bright’n’Queer LGBT Stand-Up Comedy Workshop is for anyone who likes to
laugh – from aspiring stand-ups, drag queens or performers through to those
who have to speak in public, or maybe you just want to boost your confidence
and learn how to make your mates laugh in the pub!
Tutor Jill Edwards is responsible for launching the careers of comics
including Jimmy Carr and Shazia Mirza, and has been running sell-out
stand-up comedy courses in London and Brighton for the last 13 years. No
experience is necessary, just a willingness to laugh - you’ll learn writing
techniques, some performance skills and tips on everything from using
microphones to dealing with hecklers!
The workshop will take place at Komedia, Gardner Street, Brighton, on
Saturday 2nd February, 10am – 5pm. Booking is essential, places are strictly
limited, and tickets are just £15 (£5 concs) thanks to financial support
from Pride in Brighton & Hove – similar day courses cost upwards of £60. For
more information or to book a place call 01273 648339 or email
